(Ages are available upon request)

Boris - male greyhound

Boris is a loving boy who is quite small for a male greyhound, but he is still quite strong.  This would soon improve with regular walks and once out of Kennels.  He enjoys his food, is a happy boy and loves everyone!  He needs some more careful introductions to other breeds but is otherwise faultless!

Glen - male greyhound

Glen is a happy boy who loves affection.  He happily shares and is confident around other greyhounds.  He will be tested around other breeds as soon as possible.   He looks quite small in the photo but is actually a medium-larger boy (normal greyhound size)! He walks nicely on the lead, seems fine with other breeds (with the usual careful introductions) and loves his food.  Update: Glen went home for a few days and was clean, quick to learn and very affectionate.

Ed - male greyhound

Ed is a friendly and handsome fellow who loves a cuddle and shares happily with female greyhounds.  He needs some careful introduction to smaller breeds, but is fine with lurchers and bigger dogs.  He is a really laid back chap and will slot happily into any home.

Clive - male greyhound

Clive
is a handsome and friendly boy who is confident and happy.  He has met a few other breeds and may need some more careful introductions but it won't take him long to realise he can interact happily around other dogs.  He is clean in his Kennel and very affectionate.

Sheene - male greyhound

Sheene is a handsome and very gentle boy who just wanted a cuddle when he was having his photograph taken.  He seems a very docile and calm fellow who would love to fall on his paws in a special home.  Could you be the lucky one to adopt Sheene?

Loki - male greyhound

Loki is a handsome chap who should be a great addition to any home.  He has been near a small dog and did well on his trip to the town.  He might need a little time to gain more confidence but it didn't take him long to come round to all the staff and volunteers at Whittingham so we are sure he will adjust quickly in a home environment. Loki has found a home!

Rocky - male greyhound

Rocky is a beautiful boy who is wary of new people and can bark at visitors.  However, it doesn't take him long to trust you and wag his tail so if someone is willing to give him a chance, he will turn into the most loyal and loving boy.  He is clean in his kennels, enjoys his food and shouldn't be overlooked because of his initial nervousness.

Timmy - male greyhound

Timmy is a handsome boy who is getting used to everything at Whittingham and coming out of his shell.  He is a little apprehensive at first but it doesn't take him long to come round.

Rhino - male greyhound

Rhino  is sadly looking for a new home after a change in circumstance for his adopter.  Ideally, he would find a home with another greyhound. He is being fostered in our bungalow by our staff member and his dog.  He is good with both male and female greyhounds.  He is house-trained, used to the home environment and very affectionate.  Rhino was one of our longer-term dogs when he was with us so we would love to find him another home quickly.  He will need some more socialising around other dogs and although he can be left for a little while on his own, he would ideally have someone who is around at home.  He is an intelligent dog who has fun moments and then sleeps all the time upside down!

Foxy - male greyhound

Foxy loves a game and is a very affectionate boy.  He has unusual colouring with hints of dalmation! (But he is a full greyhound).  He is a little bouncy when he first comes out of his kennel but otherwise walks nicely on the lead. Foxy is currently reserved!

Tess - female greyhound

Tess and her sister, Peggy have come in to find their homes.  Peggy has found a home, but Tess is still with us.  She's a dear little soul, gentle and loving and will be a very special girl in the right home.  She may need some more interactions with other breeds to get used to them, but this should not take long.  She has had a dental so has nice fresh breath too!

Jet - male greyhound

Jet is a handsome and friendly boy who would love a new home.  He is confident and loves everyone he meets.  He can be slightly strong on the lead at first but this would soon calm down with regular walks.

Eleven - female greyhound

Eleven (or El) has sadly been returned after 4yrs in a home.  There is a new baby in the family and as she prefers her own space, she has had to come back to look for a new home.  She really deserves her next home to be her forever home.  She is house-trained, used to the home environment and good around other dogs with the usual careful introductions.

Carol - female greyhound

Carol is a lovely girl who loves a cuddle and proved to be good with other breeds on her trip to the town.  She just wants to be loved and having a loving home to call her own. Carol is currently reserved!

Fi - female greyhound

Fi is a very confident and friendly girl.  She is quite lively but settles into her kennel quietly once she's been for a walk.  She has met smaller dogs and should be fine around other breeds with initial care. Fi is currently reserved!

Jason - male greyhound

Jason is a very affectionate boy and loves a cuddle.  He's good around the other greyhounds and will be tested around smaller dogs as soon as possible.  He's also very good at being camouflaged against a brick wall!  So we will try to get a better photo of him too!  He loves his food and just wants a loving home. Jason has found a home!

Mavis - female lurcher

Mavis is a dear little soul.  She's slightly smaller than the greyhounds, but bigger than a whippet.  She's great with other breeds, super affectionate and confident and loves everyone!  She'd love to be in the warm for the winter.  Could you be the lucky one to offer Mavis a home? Mavis is currently reserved!

Koko - female greyhound

Koko is a really beautiful dog.  She's the sibling of previously homed Whittingham hounds (Xanadu and Julietta) and current resident, Midus.  They are also the half-sibling of Sheene!  She gets on well with other greyhounds, is happy to share her kennel and will be tested around other breeds as soon as possible. Koko has found a home!

Midus - male greyhound

Midus is a loving boy who has not raced and is the sibling of Koko (and previously homed hounds, Xanadu and Julietta).  He is great around other breeds and a calm and laid back chap who needs to understand life beyond kennels.  Midus is currently reserved (pending
confirmation)!

Andy - male greyhound

Andy has sadly been returned.  He is 6yrs old and would really love a forever home.  He is loving, good on the lead and really enjoys playing with his toys.  He would thrive with another dog in the home.  He will not be homed with small children as he likes his own space when asleep, but is otherwise a really confident and happy chap.  He enjoys his food and would love to be back in the warm again.  Update: he took a trip to Pets at Home with our volunteers (soon to appear on Tiktok!) and behaved impeccably with small dogs and loved selecting his own toys!  He was the perfect boy!

Lizzie - female greyhound

Lizzie was not originally homed by us but we received a call asking for our help to take her in when her elderly owner could no longer walk her.  She had been originally rehomed by her racing owner.  We will be sorting out her vaccinations etc and then she will be ready for homing.  She's a larger girl, but super-affectionate, confident and cuddly.  We will be assessing her around other dogs but she's used to the home environment and would love to be back in a home asap.  She's 7yrs old.

Ginnie - female greyhound

Ginnie (photo and further description to come when she arrives!)

We also have one long term resident, Jerry, who is not on the website and needs the right home.
